Turning a Heart Attack into Motivation: Ana’s Story

Ana, 34, experienced a heart attack in November 2023, which gave her quite a scare. Following this life-changing event, she resolved to make significant changes to her lifestyle: she quit smoking, began exercising regularly, and consulted a nutritionist.

She soon joined a cardiac rehabilitation program, where the sense of community and support made a profound difference. Ana felt uplifted by being surrounded by others her age with similar conditions and appreciated the positive atmosphere in the gym.

After completing the program, Ana was invited to participate in the TIMELY study, an opportunity she eagerly accepted. The study provided her with additional motivation to stay active, as she could track her physical activity data through the study’s app. While she adhered well to most of the devices, she was unable to use the net-ECG due to her atopic skin, and found the chatbot somewhat disorganized. Despite these minor issues, she greatly valued being able to monitor and track her progress.

If given the opportunity to continue using the platform and its devices, Ana would do so without hesitation.
